A film on the warrior from Karnataka who fought valiantly against British rule in India Sangolli Rayanna – ‘Kranthi Veera Sangolli Rayanna’ a historical film is all set to be launched soon. This is for the second time a film on Sangolli Rayanna is made in Kannada.

The film by producer Anand Appugol in the direction of Naganna is going on the floor on 19th of November at Kittur in Belgaum district. Keshavaditya has penned the screenplay and dialogues for the film.

Challenging Star Darshan plays the title role of Sangolli Rayanna and Nikitha plays the female lead in this film. Veteran actor Shashikumar plays the right hand of Sangolli Rayanna. Dr Jayaprada plays the Kittur Chennamma queen role. The similar role in the past was played by Dr B Saroja Devi in ‘Kitturu Chennamma’ which was a big hit in its time.

The shooting schedule has been planned at Jaipur and Belgaum in 120 days schedule. Producer Anand Appugol a hard core fan of Sangolli Rayanna is not fixing any budget limit for this film. According to sources this pre independence period would easily cost Rs.10 crores.
